Hi All ive been reading these posts for quite some time and just decided its time to post. Long story short, i am in active addiction to h ( iv) and i am just so ready and want a new sober life so badly. I have tried ct, suboxone, i just never stayed sober. I am in the process of starting a methadone clinic and im really nervous. Im scared i will be stuck on the methadone, on the other hand i know i can not go on like i am now. This has to stop one way or another. What is it like when you first start methadone? Im so scared of the first few weeks, about still feeling wd's. No one knows of my addiction, i work two jobs, and have kids and a family. I just dont know what to expect in the beginning.

Welcome to the family. I have no experience with methadone, so would suggest you look at the forum Dee linked for you for further info.

I don't have any experience with your area of concern....

But more generally I can tell you that I've put a lot of other drugs behind me, alcohol included - and my life is infinitely better for it.

It won't be easy - but you can do it, and it's SO WORTH IT!!!

Your family doesnt know? I think they might suspect something.

Might be time to be honest with at least your family. Then you can tackle the addiction.
