Pro to being sober #42

Used to wonder every time I worked out in the morning if those around me could smell the alcohol in my sweat even if I was unaware of it... I wondered if they knew and just never said anything.

Now I don't need to give that a second thought anymore :-)

When I was buying wine as soon as the store opened at 8 am, I always wondered what they thought of me, so obviously in distress. So glad those days are long gone.

I used to wonder if anybody knew about the water bottle of vodka that I would turn red with crystal light packs and carry around. So glad that I don't have to smell my water bottles anymore before I drink them

Familiar with your fears about people smelling alcohol on you. I used to drink 7up with vodka at work all day long. And always wondered if people knew. Isn't it easier on the nerves not to have to worry about that?

Wow I can relate to all of these. I remember being the first one at the liquor store when it opened, shaking so badly trying to pull the money out of my wallet that I was afraid the wouldn't sell me the booze. I just got teary eyed writing that. Life was sheer hell when I was in active addiction. My heart breaks for every alcoholic and addict still suffering.

That was me too, waking up at 4 am, covered in sweat, knowing there's no way I can go to work like that, so just wait for 8am when they'll finally sell me my fix. Those white knuckled drives were awful. But no more!
