Day 15
If you had asked me if I could be sober for just a day, I would have said: "Only if the hangover is too heavy."
When I came here, I was posting drunk. Thank God I did it on here though. Who knows what would have been sent to friends and family...
Everyone was very helpful. And it was with that help that I got to a point where I had a more solid basis for quitting.
Now I have 15 days sober and it's thanks to you all! I can't express how grateful I am.
And to everyone who is struggling: it can be done. And... make a plan. And also, make a plan. Something else that comes to mind: make a plan. And btw, make a plan.
Mike
P.S. Just wanted to add: make a plan.

My plan is still a work in progress, but what I've done so far is build a Wellness Toolbox which I use every day. And I've identified my triggers and should one come up (which rarely happens), I use something from my Wellness Toolbox.
Apart from that, I've started making long-term goals. I want to do martial arts. I want to start dating. Ideally, get married and have kids.
I'm still thinking about my future and what I want it to be like and every once in a while it adjusts based on new input or a new idea.
I need to work on my plan more, but the above is helping me so much already.

Congratulations Mike. I've used the wellness toolbox too. I add it as I start changing. At first I made plans to get through the next hour, then I started to think about that night, that weekend etc. soon I can start planning for weeks then months then years! Life is clearer when sober. Not always brighter but clearer. Well done on your progress.
