What's on everyone's Friday night agenda?

I'm faced with choices ... Detailing my car with the aid of a six year old (we are going car browsing tomorrow), helping my husband with the installation of the new drop ceiling in the basement (exciting grown up Friday night ), watching 'A Walk In The Woods' ( I'm taking up hiking as a new hobby and heading out to the AT this summer), or working on my puzzle that I'm completely hooked on... Ah.. Decisions :-)

Movies with the family, farm chores, nice calm sober evening.

Wrapping up some homework for school at home once I'm done with the stuff in my official job (soon!), visiting a new exhibition of an artist friend, dinner and chat with my husband at home, probably reading a book I am very excited about right now. Maybe some "play time" and good sleep.

Heading to a beginner's AA meeting to sit and listen. A friend will be there. It's a far nicer alternative to the (un)happy hour issue.

ICan, A Walk In The Woods is the farthest thing from the reality of the AT that you can get. If you are really interested in the Appalachian Trail, visit whiteblaze.net. For general backpacking info: Home | Backpacker's Basecamp

Hiking and backpacking are my channels straight to sanity and happiness. If I can help, let me know.

Thanks :-) will check it out. I've actually read several other books and am part way through this one (enjoying the humor of the adventure more so than educational value). I've found several FB women's groups as well. I have a women's hiking/education weekend on rap later this spring as well :-)

I'm about to fire up my PS4 to play Unravel for a bit and then probably a movie or watching another few episodes of The Blacklist.

Sounds good, Ican!

There is a chat meeting tonight at 9PM EST here on SR, that is where I spend a good hour on Friday nights.

Watching cooking shows and reading posts on SR. Making up knitting patterns of scarves. I love that my creative mind is back and I'm making beautiful things again. Sobriety is everything.

I went to a meeting about half hour drive away - there were 27 of my sober friends there. Felt blessed to have them in my life. I first went to that meeting about a year ago, and found it very difficult to find; got there late and almost turned back for home. So glad I stayed

Thanks for the info. I may have to check that out. As it turns out I worked in the puzzle whole pizza was in the oven for a family movie,,, during which I then fell asleep for the night at 7:30. Gadzooks. Cleaning the car is on tap today after the gym and before we head car shopping.
