Double digit days are upon me ... Day 10
Double digit days are upon me ... Day 10
Silly as the term sounds, I'm excited to be a "double digit midget" in terms of number of days. .. Though heading into the weekend does give me a little angst. We have some different plans on the books, including a birthday party for my cousin's son. It feels refreshing to know I won't be Having the mental struggle to not drink prior to a family function, then the shame in wondering if they know... Then counting down til we get home so I can drink more. It simply isn't an option available to me anymore and it feels really good to be in that mental state of mind.

10 days is excellent. I agree that the first couple weekends are quite a challenge. But I an almost guarantee you that come Monday, you'll be very thankful that you toughed it out. I wish you the best, you can do it.
Not silly at all.
It's a good thing to celebrate being in the double digits. I think it means you are well on your way and getting here makes it much easier to stay than it was previously. Every day that you stay away from your poison makes you that much stronger.
I kind of feel like I've been on autopilot with sobriety for the past month but that's not really the case. It's more like... a body in motion tends to stay in motion. Looks to me like getting through the double digits is somewhat of a marathon. And perhaps you've hit your stride.
