I'm not going to drink ... But this tension/anxiety is terrible at the moment. Nothing I'm trying is taking the edge off. Meditating, music, etc. kids are bickering - the chaos makes me crazy and drinking was my escape for too long.
I'm glad you're not going to drink. Do something to distract yourself. And remember, these moments of temptation will get fewer and fewer, the longer you're sober. It gets better.

Hi ICanDoBetter. I had bad anxiety 2 weeks in to sobriety and I found Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) aka Tapping, really helpful...nothing else worked. You'll find clips online of the technique. Good luck x
I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. It helped me to put a new evening routine in place. Bath, book, bed for kids. Quiet time with ice cream for me. A lot of bust work in between. Washing clothes, folding them. Jigsaw puzzles were helpful too.
Keep at it. It passes eventually.

Yes it does pass; you have to give yourself time to rest and, temporarily be comfortable with being uncomfortable. It's odd since perhaps you feel mostly fine physically. We are stronger than we think, despite how awful it feels in the moment. Hang in there!
