Angst over the impending long weekend

It's nearly 3 PM in Friday leading to a three day weekend... And I find my thoughts floating around how I'm going to keep myself busy and mind occupied. Then the thought flittered in of "meh, just give in and start again next week" ... Always the kiss of death for me.

So ... Need to finish getting through today, day three ... And when day four arrives I'll focus on that rather than allow myself to feel overwhelmed. Tomorrow I signed up for back to back classes at the gym, have errands, and a dinner date. So I got this :-)

Yes, Day 3/4 were tricky times for me. Good for you for making plans and staying focused. It's a long weekend here as well, but it's SO cold.

The early days are extremely difficult. You're doing great. Just remember why you aren't going to drink. Go through the reasons in your mind every chance you can. Even with some sober time under my belt, I remind myself often why I will never go back to drinking.

Lean on this community as much as you can to help you through.

You're doing great Icandobetter!

Thanks all :-). This evening instead of plopping down with beverages in front of the TV I opted for a glorious bubble bath followed by making ice cream sundaes with all the fixings with the kids. .. And probably still consumed less calories than I typically would in alcohol. Winning :-)

You can get thru this weekend sober. Have a little faith in yourself.
