Still rolling along...
It is going well. I like myself in the mornings although I don't like mornings.... Never have.
It's just this quitting smoking thing that sucks at the moment. I am hoping it gets easier after the first week just like stopping the drink.
Just trying to take it day by day hpour by hour minute by minute.

Before or AFTER I cough up stuff in the morning lol?
But I walk up three flights of stairs four times a day at 7000 feet elevation for work. It was getting to the point where I was starting to feel it a few steps from the top. Now it's a piece of cake. I don't feel winded after that. So that is good. Next test will be how I fare when I start running again. I hate running but I need to start again. Thanks for asking!

Ah yes, the lung purge phase. I remember that like it was just a few weeks ago. Oh wait, it was, haha. Mine hit me the worst in the shower. I'm not out of breath for no reason anymore either. I guess inhaling a burning substance with thousands of chemicals is bad for you. Go figure!
Good for you quitting drinking and smoking. Your body thanks you. Keep up the good work!

Zelda- how long before your lung purge ended? I read it could last up to a year????
Well almost done with work, so another day down of not smoking... As long as I can make it home without stopping at the gas station to get smokes! Oh and still sober
I think not drinking AND not smoking is really having a positive effect on how I feel. I just feel better, breathe better, smell better, etc...

I'll be along there soon enough...Quit for years...Then got into a career doing what I do , the stress of it sent me right back to it...That was about 15 years ago.. May have to grab a box of patches soon...Don't need any more head meds chucked at me..Had a friend once who wigged out on Chantix..Wasn't pretty...Her nightmares were becoming reality...to her at least...
Anywhoo , way to Jryan! Awesome!

So since I cant post a new thread due to errors:
So here I am sober, and smoke free. I stopped smoking a little over 8 days now and I feel freaking fantastic.
I "have" asthma, mainly to cats and dogs when I was little, but I found myself using my inhaler a little too often, at least for more, a few times a week.
So I said screw it, lets see if it is smoking related. WELL I havent used my inhaler once in the last 8 days.
I am still sober, and while I get bored from time to time and want a drink, I dont.
Just though Id let you know my status.

Well you have to start somewhere with day one. No better time than today! But I understand doing one thing at a time. But Id rather be miserable for a short period of time, than being slightly miserable for a longer period of time. Just figured to jump right in. However, I am not new to being sober, I had long stretches previously.
