Welcome, Kathryn!
Our journeys have similarities and differences. Some people need a medical detox, others can do it on their own. It sounds like you fall in the latter group - as did I.
That said, relapse is common and it's wise to put together a plan for not only not drinking but working on whatever issues you have that may contribute to your drinking. Some make it the first try, others like me are slow learners. I relapsed more times than I can count and had to really buckle down and accept the fact that I needed lots of help.
I'd suggest looking at the current "class" thread (February 2016). There are others like the "One Year and Under" thread in newcomers' daily support threads. The 24-hour thread is for anyone who wants to check in and commit to 24 more hours.
Best of luck to you.

Congrats on the first of many sober weeks.
It's common for feelings to be all over the place in early recovery. Some days are great, some not so much. That's life, and we can get thru it sober.

This is the pitfall to avoid, thinking, "One week was so easy, I can drink and get right back to being sober," or worse, "I was able to quit, so I must not be an alcoholic. Good, now I can drink."

Good luck
xx
For me, it's not that hard to stop, although it's physically taxing.
In the past it's STAYING stopped that tripped me up every time.
My pitfall is thinking "I've gone x days, so I can drink just this once."
Doesn't work that way.
Good job on a full week!
