I dont even like weekends anymore
So find something else to do and leave your AV at home for the weekend.

I know it's really hard! Maybe you need to develop an SV (sober voice) a good strong one with all the fantastic benefits of staying sober, yelling back at the AV.
Good luck............. In fact I can hear your new SV yelling from here about how proud and well you'll feel after a sober weekend.

Sobriety is about building a new life not trying to make your old life work without alcohol.
My weekends are so full of enjoyable things I don't have time to fit them all in.
If you don't like what you are doing then don't do what you're doing by trying something new

I was the same way for a long time with weekends and then eventually that feeling went away. It took finding things to keep myself busy and once I got into a routine of doing enjoyable things and being productive, I actually started looking forward to weekends again. Cooking, sleeping in, accomplishing things around the house, movies, SR, etc. all keep me occupied and before I know it, it's Sunday night.
This was how I felt in early sobriety...and does happen occasionally. However, once you slam the AV down over a number of Fridays, it becomes easier to look forward to the weekend and Friday evening as a time to relax and take care of you

I was a weekend warrior, and thinking back I was pretty sick of it towards the end, but it didn't stop me. I'd still drink out of habit. Now that I have a clearer mind I see how wasteful it was. I have drank since I changed my ways but emotion and anger were at the root of it, not out of habit. In my opinion the first couple weekends are the hardest. I believe the rewards are worth it.

One of the items on my today's gratitude list is having experienced that Friday feeling without it having anything to do with alcohol. This is my 3rd sober weekend, and last Friday I found it tough because my AV told me that I 'deserved' a reward for making it through the week, in addition I couldn't switch off from work and spent most of the weekend experiencing anxiety. This Friday definitely feels different and what I 'deserve' - and am looking forward to - is sleeping in, spending time with my fiancé and taking care of myself...those are my rewards ☺ x
