Did I make right decision

I finished the 1st week of the program. I was skeptical at first but today I was excited to be there. This all feels like a dream. Right now as I lie here I wonder if I was hastey. Naw. It's never wrong to get sober. I want to be enthusiastic! Woohoo sober! Today was emotionally draining. I cried in the AA meeting. The people are so nice. I don't need that book tho. I do need a sponsor. Or somebody to tell me what to do. Are there online sponsors?

I think if you get a sponsor they will most likely be going over the book with you. By and large that's what most of them do (and for good reason). You have one week sober. Perhaps you should take advantage of their experience. Don't rule anything out before you begin.

Make this time around count. You've invested a lot. Maybe do some things different. If you are going to meetings and don't have a formal sponsor spot someone you feel comfortable talking with. The book can be overwhelming so you might just read a few beginning pages or the stories in the back to relate. We're here wishing you the best~ Stay in touch

You don't need that book, huh?

Here's a thought; read it anyway.

In fact, maybe read it three times.....

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Sure, go ahead and read the book. It can't hurt. Keep an open mind as you check out all the various resources that might be helpful in keeping sobriety going.

Glad to hear of your one-week anniversary! Great feeling, isn't it?
