Past several nights I've had dreams of relapsing.

First couple dreams I found myself post-drink and feeling distraught. Last couple of dreams I am actively drinking, and I tell myself, "oh no I will have to start over again ..." but I keep drinking.

What gives?

Unfortunately, even after a few years of sobriety, I still have these dreams fairly regularly. In fact, I think I had one last night. They used to really bother me now, I do my best to accept that it's just my brain blowing off steam, and move on.

I used to dream about relapsing a lot during my first few months. I would have a couple drinks, and then end up not being able to stop because of withdrawal. My relapse dreams have stopped for now, thankfully. I know it sucks when you wake up feeling down on yourself because of the dream, but just remember it is ONLY a dream

I had dreams like that in early recovery. I would wake up in a panic, then remember it was just a dream. Stay sober in your waking life. The dreams will stop eventually.

This is very common in early sobriety the good news is they will fade in time

It's a pretty common thing, thankfully dreams don't cause hangovers!!
