Recovery=discovery!!!
A friend posted a thing this morning about how recovery is not about "getting back to who we were before"... because we can never "get back to" some other place.
We'll never be the same person we were. In fact, we don't really want to be!!
The thing is, recovery isn't about being the same person we were, just without alcohol and drugs; it's about becoming a whole new person that represents the person our spirit longs to be. It's about becoming a person who can experience our life and our emotions with presence and gratitude. It's about discovering what Joy really is all about, what it is to Love fully with our conscious Self, what Life has to offer beyond the haze of a numbing agent.
RECOVERY is DISCOVERY.... and it's pretty darn awesome.
