Hey Gram, way to go!
Yes that certainly can be true of the culinary filed. Stick with us and you can do it, I bet you will find many here with professions and hobbies conducive to drinking, staying sober.
I think you can too, congrats on Day 5!

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on five days sober!
May I suggest that you join the Class of January 2016? You will find a lot of support from other people in the early days.

You might also consider posting in the 24 hour support thread -- posting there every day helps keep me accountable.

Finally, another thing I have found very helpful is the Tuesday and Friday chat meetings. You don't have to share if you don't feel like it (I don't share often) but just showing up for the meetings has helped me a lot.

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Hi, Gram! Chefs are the coolest people!
If you can do five days, you have what it takes. Just keep doing what you're doing and stay sober. If you get an overwhelming urge come post here FIRST so we can talk you out of it. :-)

Welcome. That's why I stopped too. I felt absolutely terrible every single day from the moment I woke up to the moment I had my first drink after work. I haven't had a hangover in 19 months and it's pretty nice.
