my first social gathering last night

Hi all well after worrying myself silly about going out for a meal with a group of people from work who all drink, I went last night and it was fine, a couple of people asked why I wasn't drinking and how I was finding it, but on the whole it was like a few people had told me on SR most really didn't care if I was drinking or not, we were there to enjoy ourselves and yes I did as well - without the help of alcohol - and I can remember it this morning and I didn't embarrass myself in front of the boss like previous gatherings.
So I think I can say that was a success!

Sounds nice! I went to the pub yesterday and didn't even think about drinking really although around half the group I was with weren't drinking too so I'm sure that helped!

Glad to hear all went well, knew you could/would do it btw
Nice building some sober muscle eh? Getting through all the 'firsts' ( first social gathering, first holidays ect) can be a little nerve racking leading up to them, and then when well and did , when proven 'doable' , you become one of those on SR saying "it's ok , you got it "
