day two
Wow days only half over and man do I feel like crap 😞 I can't get the thoughts out of my head that one drink will make it all go away but I know its a lie just not easy today I hope it gets better soon and I'm terrified for this weekend that's my big drinking days trying to stay strong and positive tho
I just posted on your first thread. Welcome to sober recovery. Congratulations on your decision to quit. The first days are always the hardest. It will get easier as time goes by.
Weekends are a struggle for many. Knowing that it will be a challenge is good because you can plan. Join the January support thread. There's a weekenders thread that will start anew on Thursday. Join in there. Keep posting. Keep reaching out. You can do this.

Congratulations on day 2, it's pretty tough the first week or it was for me although I asked for meds to help.
The one thing I kept in mind was if I pick up a drink to ease these shakes etc (first few days) I will be right back to where I started or worse.
Hang in there

You are going to have to be really strong now and the coming days as I think the battle is not yet in full swing for you yet given the amount and type of alcohol use you mentioned.
Also as was said be on guard for extreme withdrawal symptoms that may require medical attention.
You are going to have to fight that voice in your head that will rationalize you having a drink. It is happening now most likely and will keep coming at you in many different ways, fight it off.
I wish you well.

Make a plan NOW to do something different this weekend. Visit your parents, non-drinking friends, go to the darn zoo. Do anything that doesn't formerly involve you drinking. It will make your weekend fun, interesting and a lot easier. Don't set around the house or visit places you use to drink.
Welcome aboard Countrygirl. Being active here and reading old posts helped me tremendously through the early days. Bottom line, use us when you are feeling weak or like you want a drink. Let us help when we can.
Welcome.

Failing to plan is planning to fail.
countrygirllife, happens to the best of them. Why did you drink? What were you thinking? What made it so easy? Answer those questions and move on. Don't let the slip turn into a binge-it doesn't have to if you don't want it to.
You never have to drink again.
You never have to drink again.
You can make it this time tho, countrygirllife
