Don't laugh - I thought there was something wrong with me

Hi everyone, now don't laugh but I thought there was something wrong with me, like getting a cold or very run down, but on reading someone else's post on here this morning I think maybe it's my sleep pattern getting back to normal lol. I find myself getting very tired in the evenings now and going to bed early, something my husband is struggling with I think as I used to stay up way into the night after he had gone to bed and carry on drinking on my own.
I am on day 15 today, another thing I read on here today about how you know you have a real problem with drinking is if you are counting days when you are not drinking - something a non-drinker doesn't do. This is a little reminder that I still have a problem, and still fighting that voice, it says have a drink - I shout back but I've managed 15 days and I want to make it 16 days!
Thanks for listening all

I saw a great post once from someone who had stopped for years -- she said she always knew she had a problem when the voice cam back and said would be OK.

So true.

You are doing great, but be diligent -- and always remember - ABSTINENCE IS NOT CONTROL.

Good luck.

You are doing great, keep in mind some of us made a career abusing our bodies, it takes time for everything to work as intended including sleep. The first few weeks I would sometime lay down with my dog on the couch and have an afternoon nap which helped getting my nightime back on track. I did a lot of walking the first few weeks as it brings me peace and the fresh air helped me sleep.

All the best
Andrew

Good job on 15 days! That's terrific.

My sleep was off when I first quit. I would get tired and go to bed earlier. It's actually evened out now and I'm back to staying up later but I'm not drinking. I get stuff done and relax. Always was s night owl before alcohol took over my life.

Stay with it!

I'm in early sobriety as well, zig. If I go to bed at 9:30pm now, that's considered late! I just like to think of it as a sign my body is healing and finding its balance after years way outside of its natural state. Congrats on the 15 days!
