Help I need some encouragement!
I am a 33 year old mother of 3 who has a serious addiction to vicodin. I have been taking about 60 Es and Norco a day for quite sometime. I started last week cutting down so I can get off this crap. I am down to about 14 a day and I feel lousy! I am just trying to re-learn how to live my life without these pills and I feel lost. If you have any advice or know anyone else who has been in this situation, advice, help,or support would be greatly appreciated!
thinking of you
I am thinking of you. At least I am not alone. Read my post in the Newcomers board..(i guess this is the board)..I am Hardwood. Read it and you will know that you are not alone either. I will pm you right now..I think you are on line..we can hook up on msn or aol if you wish..help each other tonight.
Welcome candleburner.
Something that would be helpful... Seek out a NA or AA meeting in your area.
The support of others will make things go a lot smoother.
Read a few threads here. Know that you are not alone and that You can do this. never used vicodin so I can;t be of much help as to that other then to let you know....

Hi Candleburner,
Welcome to SR. I'm happy to hear you're cutting back on using the drugs. You still need a lot of support through a recovery program though, so I hope you'll read through some of the forums here and see which one fits you. Your children need you so much! You are a valuable person and don't have to go through recovery alone.
Prayers,
Sandy

Hi and welcome to SR. There are alot of wonderful people here who are willing to support you. NA would be a good place for you to go. There are wonderful people there who know how to help you because they have been where you are. I'll say a prayer for you. Keep posting and let us get know you while you get to know us.

Hi Candleburner
I'm Rowan, alcoholic, and I'm glad you're here. I am a 36 year old mother of 2 who just celebrated a year clean and sober from alcohol and benzos (clonazepam). I would
recommend seeing your doctor in order to safely wean yourself off of the pills. This should make the withdrawal a little easier, although it will still be difficult. NA or AA would also be a great idea; in the meantime, this board is an excellent source of support and encouragement. Life doesn't have to be like this for you; you are worth recovery. Keep posting here and let us know how you are doing, please.
God Bless
Love Rowan
