New to the board 25/f/idaho
Hello I am just new to this board
I will be sober for almost a month soon i was admitted to a hospital for drinking
i am trying to find things to do for fun, any ideas would be great. drinking was my hobbie it made me not shy, and open up to people .
Alot of people are not hanging out with my husband and i now that we are not partying anymore.
I know this is best for me and my family it is just so hard
any ideas or suggestions would be great
thanks,
Jacilin

Hello Jacilin--Welcome to SR!!! Are you and your husband attending to AA? It is a great way to meet people who are sober and make new friends. Also, there is almost nothing you can't do now that you are sober. What about joining a dance class--like ballroom dancing or swing? If I had a partner, that is something I would love to do. Also, home improvement projects, going for walks or bike rides, join a book club, etc. Glad you are here. More folks will be along shortly!

It takes time to find things that will occupy your time. Once you start developing a new sober routine, you'll begin to fill your day's. It takes time though. Enjoy the quiet time while you can because before you know it your going to get very busy with new interests!
Hi Jacilin,
Welcome to SR. Congratulations on attaining sobriety. Isn't it amazing how much free time you have now? I agree with Splendra and Lulu. Go and meet some drug-free people at AA and then you'll have a whole family of new friends.
Prayers, Sandy

Welcome. Recovery is a wonderful thing!
I agree with the suggestions of going to AA. Meetings, step work and service can keep you busy!
You're also in Idaho and there are so many cool things to do out there! Hiking, kayaking, snowboarding... The snow should be coming for you guys again soon so have some fun!
