You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Road Trip to Detox/Treatment

Hi, comrades. Just wanted to check in on my road trip from snowy Syracuse NY to Roswell GA for detox/treatment.

How weird is this? In the last few months, I no longer like the taste or the buzz of alcohol. My drinking career is at its end, just like a burned-out romance. All that remains ahead is the hard work of recovery after being an alcoholic my entire adult life.

This starts in earnest Monday morning. It's a whirlwind schedule. And believe it or not, I'm looking forward to not having to drink this vile-tasting s***. What to eat and drink instead is a total mystery to me.

What to do instead is also a total mystery. See, I've been drinking so long that I no longer enjoy anything.

I'll be getting IV amino acids and those are reputed to quickly restore an addict's ability to enjoy things. Hmmm.... I'll have to take it on faith for now, because I sure can't fathom it!

I hope this treatment works for you, but whatever happens, stay sober and you will be okay.

Sounds like you are on the right track. What I found is that there are all sorts of things I enjoy but alcohol had numbed everything both good and bad. Once I got sober the world was like a blank slate just waiting for me to discover all of it's wonders.

It took awhile but slowly I rebuilt a sober life and said goodbye to my drinking life. Oh what a good.life it is
