Welcome Krance,
This place has helped me more than I could of imagined and there's really a lot of support, encouragement and wisdom here.
Might seem overwhelming at first but you have made a difficult and brave decision to kick the drugs, I applaud you for it.
Stick around and read the threads, there's a substance abuse forum but it can be a bit quiet sometimes.
Glad you're here mate

Good Morning and Welcome, it makes us all stronger when someone comes in for help as they are tired of being sick. I always encourage people to come up with a plan to stay sober, balance, mindfulness and support. If you have access to the net you have access to the worlds largest library. I come here, have a tool box full of resource readings I look at every day and I found a really good AA online group, had to go through many but the one I found works for me and is great.

Wishing you the very best, you are at home here, no matter what is going on, many of us have been there.

Andrew

Welcome to Sober Recovery Krance! This is a great place to find encouragement & support. Do you have any ideas on how to fight those urges yet?

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Ok, krance, here goes: I drank for 30 years. During the last 15 years of that, I drank 6-12 drinks, 6 days a week. I joined SR 2 years ago, hung over, embarrassed and terribly guilty about all the damage I had done during my drinking years.

Then, with the support and advice that I received here, I stopped drinking. I haven't had a drink since the day that I joined SR, 2 1/2 years ago.

If I can do it, you can do it.

Good luck, krance. We are pulling for you.

Welcome krance

My advice is to post regularly, especially when you're feeling wobbly - but even when you're not - someone else may appreciate a kind word

Welcome Krace. Me only 19 days. Cravings come in waves and then abate. Each time you are hit with a wave distract yourself somehow. You will be glad tomorrow. I am watching the skating championships on TV and it is so beautiful. Gee, I wouldn't want to try that triple twist drunk.
