I found SR and made my first post about 4 weeks ago. Cravings have been rough this week - still working on a recovery plan and figuring out what is going to work for me in addition to SR - as a reminder, I was the person who would stop at the bar after AA meetings
This site has done more for me than I anticipated. It's not been perfect, but I have been more successful this month than in years. Reading all of your stories and experiences has inspired me and kept me "in the zone." I am getting it through my skull that the next drink is not going to be different. For the last 15 years, I have wanted "just one more chance" to prove I could be a normal drinker, that I could set limits and stay within them. I think there's an AA quote that says many an alcoholic have pursued that delusion to death or the gates of hell. I don't want to go to jail or hurt someone before I get it. I really hope I continue to learn from you. I visualize that future posts are about sober anniversaries, not the horrible progression of this disease.
Thank you all, tremendously
