After all this time?

I have been sober for about 1 year 10 month.....I NEVER experienced a dream in which I drank alcohol until last night. What's with that?

Dreams are interesting to me, some make sense some none at all, maybe something in your subconscious was thinking about it. Google is your friend, maybe look up understanding dreams. I have never had one where I was drinking so I am not really sure.

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

I'm in "dream mode" too. It happens. I hear it can happen even years later.

Don't sweat it. It's a dream. You'll never have a hangover or a DWI from drinking in a dream.

Congrats on your sobriety! I've had similar dreams, it's common. Did you run into someone recently you used to drink with? Maybe something in your subconscious you repressed in waking hours. Dream interpretations are actually pretty fascinating.

My dreams portray in symbolic terms how alcohol has affected my life, and the challenges of recovery.

In general, dreams for me provide a kind of commentary on my life. I like that I'm having these dreams now. It shows me that my subconscious mind is taking sobriety seriously.

the first time my brother got sober he went for 2 years before his next drink, he's been sober now again for about 3 months. the first time round he used to have nightmares where he'd caved in and was drinking with friends or something. It was like an anxiety dream.

I've been sober six years and still have the occasional drinking dream. It's just a dream. And when I wake up, I'm sober.

Maybe the dream is to keep you on your toes. Make you remember how far you've come and how much work you have put into it.

I've had a dream where I could fly. What's with that?

It's just a dream.

congrats on 22 months. You are a fine example of sobriety here.

Oh I think so, I know it happened to my brother when he was very strongly to committed to sobriety, as he is again now. I think its perhaps some kind of defence mechanism, your subconscious giving you a little reminder!

I had a ton of those dreams early on in sobriety. They are few and far between now, but I still have them from time to time. Had one the other night in fact. I'm 3.5 years sober....as long as they are "just dreams" they won't bother me one bit!
