Apologies

Hey guys, I would like to apologize for posting while drinking these past few days, I'm sure that's a trigger for some people, so I sincerely apologize.
I've slept it off and am chugging down water, listening to meditation music and staying strong. I will never drink again. I'm comited to my sobriety and taking control of my life again.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Shanti

Thanks, Shanti! I know we were worried about you, so I'm glad to see you back and feeling strong and sober.

No problem Shantilove. The important thing is you're back and ready to try again. This isn't easy but you have to keep trying.

To become successful in recovery is a learning
process. It means learning how to not repeat
many of the things we did or have done while
drinking and under the influence of a toxic
substance.

Think of all the things we've said to others.
Things that hurt others whether it be children,
parents, emplyees, bosses, best friends, etc.

Think of the things that have hurt us. Maybe
resentments we continue to hold onto that
we don't want to face or deal with in a sober
manner.

We all have baggage from the past that
many of us continue to hold onto and it
become so heavy to deal with or don't
know how to deal with them in a healthy
manner, so we drown it, numb it, stuff it
deeper down within us and they continue
to eat away at us causing us to stay sick
in mind, body and soul. Or mentally, physically,
emotionally as well as spiritually.

To be successful in recovery and sobriety
would mean facing old behaviors and learning
why we continue to do them, and find a solution
to solve them without using alcohol or drugs
which would make matters worse and not
better.

Staying connected to a recovery source
like here in SR, where many members who
have learned how to deal life on lifes terms
and situations can share many helpful
suggestions to guide you along in ur own
recovery journey to remain sober or clean
one day at a time.

Remain openminded to suggestions,
willing to do what is needed to gain
another day sober and learn to be honest
in all ur affairs.

Success will follow you along the way.

This is great news and no need to apologize, we are all in this together a team the AV doesn't stand a chance against, keep that in mind because we care for each others sobriety.

Dear Shanti, I am glad you are turning back your focus on your sobriety. Lots of us have had relapses and I don't think anyone here wouldn't understand that you posted while drinking. We do things while drinking that we ordinarily would not do. My only worry is you saying you will never drink again. Just try not to drink today. Forever is too big and heavy to carry around. Don't be hard on yourself. If strength and control were a contributing factor to sobriety then lots of people would not have addiction problems. I am pulling for you and send you hope and courage. John

Glad you are ok. Stick close to SR and post lots. Have you joined the January class yet? I find the classes super helpful.
