Are you sure there's no other group in driving distance? There may be some people from the Saturday group driving somewhere for a meeting who'd give you a lift. I give people lifts and also get given lifts. It's the AA way to support each other. If you have some numbers given to you on Saturday maybe ring around. If not, it might be worth calling the hotline, and a bloke from AA near you will call you. If there's no meeting someone'll be happy to support with a phone call or meet for coffee and chat. It's all part of 12th step.

I attended a SMART online meeting on my first sober Friday evening. It was very good. Just make sure you check out all instructions and test it in advance so that you can enter the chat room in a timely manner.
Online Meetings & Events

I also planned my first Friday to the minute, including what I was going to drink (sparkling water with juice :-), eat, watch on TV, etc.

Ask people what they do on Friday nights.

We have a Recovery Meeting in the chat room at 9 EST, 8 Central (USA time)

The main thing is to do something different, distraction is a great tool in early Sobriety, but planning in advance is the key!!

You can do this Kev!!

+1 for the Friday night chat meetings. They have helped me a lot.

Or just log in to the forum and read and post if the chat time does not work for you.

There is other good advice in this thread.
