Happy New Year :)
Happy New Year to you all, I hope everybody's year is off to a good beginning!
Well, I over-ate, over-caffeinated, over shopped, over-stressed, and overslept, but I didn't drink. It's going to be a good year, lol.
I am 4 weeks sober tomorrow, feeling pretty stable at the moment but I have to say my sobriety seems so fragile at times, and it is unsettling. I knew on New Years Eve, although I just went out for dinner with my family, that if the waiter suggested a cocktail, or even if my husband (who drinks twice a year) had ordered a drink, I would've caved. So, I wasn't even feeling too proud of myself when I went to bed sober because I felt like it was just luck.
But anyway I'll look at the big picture, I'm 4 weeks sober tomorrow, and that's a great way to start the new year.
I hope you all have a wonderful and successful 2016!

4 Weeks is fantastic!!
Does your husband know of your commitment to Sobriety? as some accountability in that situation would have been a good thing to build into the evening, just in case!!
Keep pushing through!! Happy New Year!!

Thanks everyone. My husband has probably noticed that I haven't been doing my usual cocktails twice a week but he never says anything. I guess I should have mentioned it but seriously I hate discussing it. He just doesn't understand.
Strangely enough I started out as a daily binge drinker, gradually getting control (somewhat). The past 2 years I've kept it at once or twice a week, sometimes less, but continued to feel shame. I never feel good physically either, it was still affecting me negatively. I'm too darn old to be binge drinking!
