Day 4... crazy dreams!
I slept through the night for the first time since I last drank 4 days ago. No pounding heartbeat and no sweats, but I had some disturbing dreams! They were dark, very realistic, and seemed to go on and on. I can't even begin to explain them. What gives?!
It seems to be a very common occurrence in early Sobriety, the body I guess is not only adjusting physically, but also mentally and emotionally!!
They can be quite intense, so hang in there, the good news is dreams don't cause hangovers!!

For me I saw it as part of the withdraw process, it stops but OMG some of the dreams I would remember when I woke were crazy.
Just hang in there, I am very happy you had a good sleep, rest is very, very important.
All the best
Andrew

They're very common. I had them, for sure.
Someone here may have a scientific explanation, but try not to get too freaked out - I never ascribed any meaning to them, they will fade and pass in time...give yourself a couple of weeks

Hey, Carrie Bradshaw,
I have yet to read two identical descriptions of early sobriety. It's just that different for everyone. My early days were characterized most notably by exhaustion and an inability to pry myself off the mattress in the mornings.
I can imagine that it was an uneasy experience but I'm with Dee -- I wouldn't read too much into it.
Be kind and patient with yourself. You can do this, honey.
