Why men (humans) drink.... and the blessing for those who do not....
This is a time of year that winds up invariably fraught with pervasive drinking.
It is a time of year that magnifies the already-strong propensity of human beings in the modern age to participate in addictive behaviors with alcohol and other substances.... but why?
Tolstoy has some very insightful - and I think accurate - thoughts on the matter. Within this piece, too, we find a clear message about the spiritual goodness and the deep blessings attendant to choosing the path of sobriety.
