Climbing up a slippery staircase - 2015

Hey guys,
I haven't been on here since Nov 2012. I just looked at my post and it shocked me how hard i've been working at this. I've been in physical meetings most of the year in the Denver metro area. I have 2 big books and have probably been to 200 meetings this year. I have a sponsor and am working on Step 4. It's been up and down but i continue to get tools in my tool box. Just off memory i've been able to string together 30+30+31+35+48+32 and now 2.
I still work at this everyday. Alcohol is cunning, baffling and powerful but if we continue to work at this brothers and sisters we can prevail.

I started 2015 off living with my buddy who is a great guy. Found a great job and decided i deserved a drink and lost the job and was homeless. I spent from March to September on the streets. During that time i found a job and lost it again to the bottle. I found another job bought a used truck and then drank and lost the job. Found another job and got a room to rent in a sober mandatory house hold. I then lost my job but it wasn't due to drinking. I was pissed! I drank and got 42 days. The holidays came around and i drank again. On Christmas Day my roommate accidentally discharged his gun in the house i'm staying in. He came to the room to apologize and found me drinking. He was so understanding and drove me to the hospital where i then went to detox. My landlord should've kicked me out but she's a former addict. I promised her i wouldnt drink. I've got to do this i'm so much better than alcohol. Hope everyone has a great 2016.
Thanks for reading
Garrison

W elcome back to SR, Garrisson! Looks like 2016 will be your year now that you're sober again. Get a rock-solid plan and stick to it. Stay close. We'll cheer you on when you need it!

Try to work those steps! Us alcoholics are different than the average drinker and we cannot drink in moderation. As for the 2nd and 3rd steps trybto do what you think would be GOD's will. Try praying in the morning and ask god to help you with another day of sobriety and to help direct your thoughts and actions. You sound very sick, but I will be praying for you, and I don't pray that much. I try to though. You can do it. If you feel your thinking getting off come onto SoberRecovery or give your sponsor or another AA a call.

Keep your head up. If this was easy, everyone would do it! From one CO guy to another, we got this. Keep me updated in how things are going.
