Good Lord...Quit Drinkin and tossed on Cymbalta at the same time...

ANXIETY , THEN PANIC , ANXIETY , THEN PANIC , ANXIETY , THEN PANIC....

Feels like a new Hit TV series , the Alzheimers meets the Parkinsons...

I have a Neuro Dr. reviewing my symtpoms...

ER said I am fine , just having repeated anxiety attacks Cymbalta should help..Here in lies the no drinking part , can't drink on Cymbalta or apparently bad things happen , which i am trying to avoid...

Happy Holidays , I think...

Hey Wolf! You're still here!! Thank you....Ahh , under new Insurance rules , My Dr won't touch meds , the ER won't consider anything like that..I am being referred to a Psychiatrist , which I am out of time to visit this year...My GP prescribed Cymbalta to replace Celexa , but refuses to manage them , she sent me elsewhere..

"Here , take these and go away"..Been a 3 month circle of this stuff ..

I am trying breathing , but sometimes , it's just flat out hard to breathe..

I'll roll with it best I can...

Thank you ...

Welcome back nofear, it's been a while. Just to clarify as it's not quite clear:

1. How long has it been since you actually quit drinking?

2. How long has it been since you quit taking celexa and replaced it with cymbalta?

3. Does your doctor know about the answers to #1 and #2?

Sounds like a whole lot happening at once. I suffer from anxiety too and mine was through the roof the first week or so after I quit, although I was not on any meds besides beer. I paced the halls and didn't sleep much for several days. It did get better...and i'm sure yours will too.

Hey Scott....Yeah , pretty much threw back 10 Beers Saturday working the garage , felt like my Abdomin about had enough , slept about all day Sunday , could barely wake up.. They have had me on Cymbalta since Weds of Last week , which is pretty much when I discovered that Beer and Cymbalta will not get along at all..Considering at this point , my muscles still want to control themselves , which skeers the heck outa me..Hence the Neurologist...

All hepatic functions and ab MRI's are clear, so hoping they stay that way.....Just the delayed motor function (pyschometer I think) is a little off, so hoping for improvement there...Like vision is off just enough to create a random dizzy spell..Turn my head , and a billionth of a second later my vision catches up...That Weirnike stuff is skeery , so I am glad they say it's not that...

Just hoping it gets better and hoping it's not to late..

The Dr's really aren't concerned or discussing Alcohol at any point , they are working on other issues unrelated , but drinking is not helping any of it..Just making it worse , so yanking the plug on that....

Up till about 2013 , primary Care Dr's would discuss this stuff , but over the last year , they refer you everywhere. Heck , I even got refereed to an ENT for a sinus infection of all things...Not just my Dr, but most of the Dr's lately do this..Frustrating as heck...

The folks at the ER tested my reflexes and they said No way is this Weirneks , just really bad anxiety..So I said, OK..Neuro Dr tested my reflexes and said "Your anxiety and ADD are out of control"...So , that is one of the things I am working on right now...Which brings me to Cymbalta...

I will discuss anything related with alcohol with a Psychiatrist when it comes up..

.
For your immediate health and safety they should be concerned about it, or at least be informed of it. Mixing alcohol ( especially 10 beers at a time ) with either of those meds could be pretty dangerous.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding and you have told them about it, but if you are concerned about the current symptoms you are having, the dr's need to know about anything that could be causing them.

I know this , they have everything in my chart , primary Dr. says nothing she can do , go to ER , neurologist says call primary care...I go back call primary care , they say go to ER.. ER says I am fine, sends me home...I was enjoying some nice calm tremors , so went to urgent care , they sent me to the ER , ER says I am fine , sent me back to primary care..Primary says she can't do anything , and everyone says it takes 3 weeks for Cymbalta to work...I asked one more time , we are sure everything IS OK , ER ran 50 billion more tests and checked my reflexes and said I am fine...The say if I need further help , see psychiatrist..32 different appt's in 3months between specialists , ER and urgent care and I am not over exaggerating. Last time , which was last week, I went in to see Primary Care Dr. , I was shaking and she said , it's just anxiety , breathe...I said do you have anything to help , No...See psychiatrist.. I am dead beat tired...I am working tomorrow , then have Christmas eve off thru Sunday... <---That's where we sit...At the same time , I just got a raise and no more time off....Not a big fan of the current Health care system right now...Like I said , it's just a roller coaster right now , anxiety , panic , anxiety , panic...I am better today , than I was yesterday..So will hopefully improve from here..Just an exhausting process tied to a very very very long stressful 6 years...just want to heal up from here on out...Tooo long of a story..Christmas is long over due ...Good to see it come..

Anyways virtually no tremors today, just some minor annoying panic related palpitations which are subsiding... Merry Christmas ya'll!

I don't understand what you mean by "tossed". Has your doctor taken you off of Cymbalta or did you stop taking it on your own? Or am I completely misunderstanding what you mean by "tossed"

Confused , well join the club...Good Lord..Finally saw a decent Dr. today who asked "Why are you on all these meds?? You don't need to be on the these!!!" He has me back on Metropolol , Clonidine , and a round of Ativan to calm the heck down....Apparently during recovery , which is longer than expected , we cannot even occasional throw back a few beers every now and then , because anytime someone changes a med on ya , bad things break loose...

I am starting to breathe no...Even made a trip to Kroger tonight...Before today , Leaving the house skeered the heck outa me , which is the exact opposite of who I am...

OoooKkkk...No more occasional beers apparently... , because when some meds say "Alcohol may increase the side effects , they dang well mean it"....

Drug interactions and side effects on top of withdrawal?? Good Lord...

Anyways , bring on the New Year...while I uncross my eyes and unzap my brain...

Good going not combining antidepressant with alcohol...I don't want to assume what's going on in your case, but personally I needed to stop self-medicating with alcohol. The underlying issues needed to be addressed as best as possible. Those issues don't go away over night...so be patient. The Cymbalta needs time to take full effect. I had a co-worker once who stated Cymbalta was the only antidepressant that worked for her...it's known to be one of the better ones, but is also a bit more expensive, if your insurance does not cover it. Best to you. Keep posting. You can do this!!
