Struggling

There isn't any physical craving for alcohol, but the pull to get away from the worry and stress of life is so strong today. The thoughts to get a bottle of vodka are strong today. I know the worry and stress will still be there regardless, but not having to deal with it would be so nice.

Today I've stayed busy with Christmas shopping, grocery shopping and transporting a dog to a rescue. I'm home now with no alcohol and cooking dinner.

The struggle is real today. Tomorrow I will be glad I didn't drink today. I just have to keep telling myself that.

Think about other things you like to do to relieve stress sinderos?

a good book, some music, funny movie, a little exercise?

I've never woken up sober wishing I had drank the night before.

I know that feeling well. Actually thought about it today. Lots of drinking dreams lately for some reason. But you know as well as I do that acting on that thought will quickly turn into lost days and unimaginable cravings not to mention the horrible withdrawals. Dealing with a nagging thought is a lot easier to deal with, don't you think? John

Yes, John. Dealing with the nagging though is a whole lot easier to deal with!

Ideal, I have never woke up glad I drank the night before either!
