6 weeks today

It has been difficult to start this process of quitting for good over again, but it is already getting easier. I had four months before so I know I can make it at least that far. Things I have done to make sure I don't have an excuse to relapse: I am not attending either one of my Christmas parties at work since they both revolve around drinking. I am not going out with friends on New Year's Eve, as I know they will all be drinking. I've had plenty of wild New Years in the past, and I am looking forward to eating a good meal and watching a movie and going to bed early. New Year's Day will make 2 months sober. I think once I get past that last hurdle I will be good for a while on the triggers. It will be my new year resolution to stay sober! It will be nice to go all of 2016 without a replapse and make it the best year yet. I will keep posting to keep myself accountable and to let you guys, who are so supportive, know I am still doing well. Thanks.

Six weeks is AWESOME. For me that was the hard part. It sounds like you have a good plan in place. We are all here for you. I know you can do this.

You remind me of me for this old drunk has also seen many of those New Years.

As for a good meal and watching a movie and going to bed early.
Describes my favorite New Years.
Very grateful for I have seen a few of those now.

Two months for you on New Years Day -- in advance congratulations.

Good work on the six weeks. I will be there with you, enjoying the holiday evenings fully without attending parties.
