Missed you guys

So I've realized SR was helping me way more than I thought. Through my two longest sober periods SR has proven to help me the most.

I need/want to come back here daily. It's the only thing that I've found that really helps me to stay sober.

There's multiple reasons I haven't been back in a while; shame, guilt, broke (our cell phones are turned off - can't pay the damn bill because I'm drinking which then turns back to shame and guilt). But I'm not going to make excuses anymore. I have wifi, I have a device, I can log in daily. It's time to make a final plan to stay sober. If I don't, I'm going to die. And I'm young.

Day 1 again peeps. And my husbands Christmas party is next week. He wants to go. Open bar. Wow, this is going to be tougher than I thought. Why in hell did I have to wait till 2 weeks before Christmas to come back to SR?!

My kids deserve better than a parent like me. Sorry for the random closure - Typing the above just made me realize how pathetic I am. It's Christmas and there's nothing under the tree.

Welcome back. You can do it. And just a suggestion, if you go to your husband Christmas party drive separately. That way you can leave if things get tough for you. I'm not going to tell you not to go, but that may even be better at 2 weeks in.

Welcome Jillian

Have a plan for the party and make sure you eat! It might sound like a minor point but I went to a wedding recently and discovered that if I eat, I'm less likely to get alcohol cravings.

Glad you are here

Welcome back. This is day two for me. My drug of choice is grass. Yes, it might be just before Christmas, but just think by next Christmas we will hopefully be a year sober and clean.

You love your children and they love you. Just think how proud they will be of you when you are the best mom you can be. My toy poodle Benji is my four legged child and I must get off the drugs for him, so he has the best doggie mum I can be.

This place helped me in the past and it will help both of us now. We have taken the most important step an that is coming back and starting over again.

hugs.

Welcome back, I know things seem bad right now but the best gift for yourself and your family is your sobriety. You can take it one day at a time and things will slowly get better.

About the party, honestly I would skip it.

Thanks everyone.

I am going to tell hubby tonight that I don't want to go. It's miles away anyway and hubby suggested we take a cab. I don't want to waste my money on a cab just to get free beer and mingle with people I don't know. And being out of my comfort zone will more than likely trigger anxiety which ultimately leads to drinking. So I see no way of driving ourselves and not drinking. Just best if we don't go. Hoping he will be on board. He just started this job anyway.

I made it to work on a Saturday this morning and got some overtime. So that's new, in the past I'd never go in the office on a Saturday. It was nice to get caught up without people there and phones ringing. Looking forward to my next paycheck now instead of dreading how little it will be (getting overtime and took hubby off my health insurance).

Today may be a little tough to get through. I took my husband lunch on my way home and he said he was whipped from working and hungover. I just hope he doesn't come home with a beer. I'd call him, but, well, you know.

This!! Yes it is!

When we slowly started getting back in our old habits, the first night we decided to have "a couple", my son said "don't drink beer mom". I was so stupid, I said I'm only having a few. Well look where that got me back to! Everyone was right! Sure, you can have two or three one night, but you will end up back where you were or even worse! I should've listened!

I sure hope so. I'm going to take a nap. But it'll still be here when I awake. He said I should've told him not to, but I forgot.
