I am on the right team,,,,

Day 3, day 2 was about the same as day 1, trouble sleeping with weird dreams, while i was trying to get to sleep and failing, for a brief moment i thought you know if you were just able to have a couple a shots at least you could sleep, that thought was immediately followed with the thought of great, then what would your day three post be titled? i got up and read some SR postings and read my day 1 and day 2 post, what set me straight was the response from all of you to my first two posts, you people really do care and we are all pulling for each other to win over the poison and the reply's put me back on track. today i feel great, first time in many years i woke up and did not have to think about last night and feel like i was hit by a train, thank you guys, enjoy the sober day today.

Actually feeling *good* when waking up in the morning is one of the big motivators for me to stay sober another day. It is such a great way to start a new day.

Congrats on your Day 3!!!

This place is a great motivator for me, too.

Speaking of trains...

You know it's the engine that kills you, right - not the next car, not the caboose? Don't sit on the railroad track. It's the first drink that will kill ya. Don't pick up that first drink.

Congrats on Day Three. You're doing well!

Way to play the tape forward! That is one of the skills I used early in my sobriety as well.

Good job!

Good for you Grizzly!

My first week was difficult. Like you I read the forums and took comfort in all the support, I received.

Have a wonderful day.

Waking up with a clear head and not a hangover is a great thing I enjoy now. These days will add up to weeks and then to months Grizzly.

You got this!

Congrats! Posting and reading here has helped me through the tough times too.

As for the sleep - everyone is different but my sleep has improved almost every day since about day 5... still get the weird dreams but they're not so bad lately (not sure if that is because they are less weird or I'm just getting used to them!)

i have even managed a few nights of sleeping straight through 6 or 7 hours - it truly is a wonderful thing to wake from! :-)

haha.

I heard that from an AA old-timer. He got sober in 1969. Continuous sobriety since then. He repeats that little story in almost every meeting.
