Birthday in Florida
Hi,
I'm still in Florida, and having a wonderful relaxing time.
It's still very sad, I'm here and my ah is home and were not together on my birthday. We have spend this day together for the last 12 yrs.
It's now the middle of the morning, and not a word from him, to even wish me a happy birthday. My ah will have some excuse. The man he used to be would have called me, knowing what time I get up, to be sure his voice was the first thing I would hear.
So many things have changed, it's overwhelming!! This disease is touchs every aspect of life, doesn't respect respect, destroys trust, and is just plain hurtful!!
I am so lucky to have my family, but of course what my birthday wish is to have the man I married back.
I have got a lot of comfort from reading the posts here. Most of them are so much like what I'm feeling and how my ah behaves. I don't feel so alone.
But, I am alone. I am the only one that can make the decision that right for me.
Actually, my birthday wish is for me this year, that I'll have the courage to make the right decision, and the strengh to follow through with my decision and plan.
Thank everyone for your support, caring, and the courage and strength you have.

I know you're in a sad place right now, I too was alone on my birthday last month. We're here with you and I know its not the same but you're doing so well and I guarantee it will get better...one foot in front of the other!

I'm not sure how realistic it is to wish you a "happy" birthday, but I will wish you a strong and serene one. And a hopeful one. Resolve to make this YOUR year to shine.
And do something nice for yourself. I do, every year. Sometimes I do something with a friend, but if not, I do something special for myself.

You don't have to worry about strength to do anything today. Focus on acceptance of him as he is, so you can begin to let go of who you wish he was. Sending you peace, comfort, and the small joys of family on your birthday.

My birthday is 12/9 too...
And two weeks earlier I asked my guy to leave. He gave me a gift and wanted to get together- but it wasn't the right thing. So my struggle on Wednesday was to make sure I keep my peace and hold my boundaries.
I hope you had a very PEACEFUL birthday. Maybe sad, but peaceful in your heart. That's the kind of day I had, and I'm considering it a blessing.
