Stomach bug vs hangover

Hi, all. Feeling weak and exhausted from being up all night throwing up from a stomach bug. Just lying in bed with a sense of gratitude, because last night reminded me of prior days of over binging: gut wrenching, sweating profusely, bleary eyes. All those awful self inflicted physical maladies. Whereas, this morning, after almost 9 months of sobriety, I know, I'll begin to feel well soon. Don't have the guilt, depression, self loathing. Just gratitude.
Just wanted to share.

Yup. Its hard to believe I would knowingly do something that made me feel that way. Its horrible.

I had a stomach bug/food poisoning (who knows) a while back during one of my sober times before. Man that was horrible. Lasted for three days- horrible days.

But there is nothing more horrible than throwing up and tasting that alcohol that has been fermenting in your stomach. Yuck.

Just know that once this is over, you will be back to normal and you wont be drinking and wont be a horrible mess.

Id' say that throwing up bile after you've already thrown up the contents of your stomach is slightly more horrible ;-)

And in regards to the OP, yes...it's a great reminder that we used to MAKE ourselves feel this way due to our choices. Getting sick because of a bug of some kind is much more tolerable...hope you feel better soon!

Feel better soon, it really is amazing that some of us used to make ourselves feel this way on a regular basis. Time and time again fooling ourselves into thinking it will be fun only to wake up sick for a few days.

Thanks for your replies and well wishes.
Keeping down a little food and trying to rehydrate.
And trying to wash all the bed linen, etc.
Fun, fun....
At least I'm sober ☺️

Pedialytle helped me out a ton when I was sick. It is easy on your stomach- much more so than Gatorade or soda.
