Day 6
Just looking for opinions on this,it is day 6 for me and it has been that long since I have had and real long sober time I am not sure how I should be feeling. Today I feel low angry and want to drink but nothing changes if nothing changes so wont be doing that. Are these feelings of missing out, feeling alone, angry and overthinking normal at this stage and if so when should I see an improvement.
Thanks for listening...

You're not shackled to not drinking, you're free from drinking

What you're feeling is very normal. You'll have good days and bad days and an emotional rollercoaster for awhile. Everyone is different so don't be surprised if it lasts months. Just hang in there and work through the bad days a day at a time.
Day 6 is still early, the body needs time to adjust and heal, if like me you drank for years without many gaps then it's going to take more than a week.
Hang in there though, more time will definitely turn things around!!

I also think your feelings are normal at this time. I felt a lot of anger in early recovery, too, but if you can get past those feelings, then you will begin to see positive improvements in your life.

Keep at it, 6 days is great progress and in some ways these really early ones are by far the worst. Think of it this way, you don't want to have to do the first 6 days again?? You'll be feeling better soon and then the good days start to outnumber the bad.
Good luck to you.

Neo, I know you're miserable - but we all go through this phase. I had all those feelings and more. I also had many problems to untangle due to my recklessness when drinking. Gradually, I began to cherish the sober mornings with no regret or dread. I was free. We promise it'll change & get better/easier.
Six days is early and as has been said before changes will keep on happening the longer you are sober. Some will be uncomfortable some will feel great. The longer you are sober the great feelings will outnumber and eventually smother the bad feelings.
As has been said on the forum many times before, we spent years drinking ourselves into the situations we are in and we can not expect to return to normal in a few days, weeks or months.
The faster you start day one the faster you can get where you need to be.
