Hi hope you're all doing well. I have just realised these last few months I have a drink problem. I currently attend AA and other support groups. I'm right at the start of recovery and have not quit completely. I have had days off from drink but resume after a day or two. I currently drink either lager (8 pints a time) or more commonly up to two bottles of wine a day.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to recovery.

Hi and welcome, I was a 2+ bottles of wine person myself. It'll take its toll on you, that's for sure. I can tell you that things are going a lot better for me now that I have stopped that mess.
Is there something holding you back from quitting altogether? Are you not sure you want to or you just can't seem to get it?
I was in the "can't seem to get it" category, relapse after relapse after relapse. Which I definitely don't recommend by the way. But the one thing I did do was keep coming back, keep trying after every fall. I hope this time I've got it.
Best of luck to you on this journey, we are all here to help and support you. I was having a rough day myself today, felt very nervous I might cave and drink but I came on here to talk about it and was greeted with great support and advice.

Welcome to SR
For years I could admit I had a drinking problem but did very little about really working towards a solution. The part about a desire to quit drinking eluded me..............
Do you have a desire to quit drinking, friend??

Great to have you with us, McCartney.
I hadn't quit completely when I joined SR - but not feeling alone anymore gave me strength. You're not in this by yourself - we all understand and want to help.
