Went to watch some owls get released into the wild today after being re-habbed at a local raptor center.

It was really cool... a bright, crip, sunny winter day. My girls and I. A crowd of cheering people gathered.

The symbolism of my totem animal, flying off into freedom, from recovery - was pretty neat.

I hadn't even thought about the "Owl Rehab" and "Release into Freedom" angle when we headed out to see it. I was just thinking; "what a cool once in a lifetime experience for the girls".

Then it hit me....

Thanks for sharing this! I too regard the owl as my spirit animal, and had an interesting experience with an owl shortly before I quit drinking.

oooohhh. Is that a barn owl? What a great experience. Maybe I'll go to the zoo today. I could use an animal or twenty today.
