It's Friday Night....

And as we roll on into a weekend remember;

There is a world of possibility.
We have experienced so little of it.
Look around you, ask "what haven't I done or seen"?
In your town.
In your county.
Within an hour or two drive.
In your own home.
On your bookshelf.
In your neighborhood.

What have I wanted to do but never tried?

What dreams haven't I pursued because I'd get to it "someday".

This evening, this weekend, in the hours that stretch ahead - why not focus on some of those things???

There is a wonderful world of experience. A rich and never-ending tapestry of alternatives to addiction. It's a wonder we EVER drank or did drugs at all!!! What with all the possibilities and so little time.

So make a list this evening. Dream. Wonder. Recall. Envision.

Here's to a sober weekend of LIFE.

That's good. Took a walk today and saw many houses I've never seen. Too many books on the shelf I've never opened. But still planning to hit the library for something new. Nice post thanks!

^^^Definitely one of the best things about sobriety. There's so much left to do. And the energy to do all those things is amazing.

I'll also add the guilt free feeling that there's no blame game anymore. That tremendous weight off the shoulders just added years to my life.

Thanks for the positive post FreeOwl.

Cool

Nice thought... I'm gonna relax guilt free! And I'm working out at 9pm because I wasn't able to all week due to in laws. Tomorrow I'll wake up and consider what my Saturdays have been missing when hungover.

Im almost 6 months sober. I had a huge job interview this morning (find out the outcome next week) and as a result I tossed and turned all last night. Maybe got 2 hours sleep max. Felt pretty tired BUT I kept telling myself at least I'm not tired AND hungover! That was uplifting and motivated me and the interview went alright! Last interview I had 3 years ago I drank the night before and was definitely hungover when I showed up. Needless to say I didn't get that job back then surprise surprise.

Happy Friday everyone sober living for the win

I ate too many blue Jolly Ranchers earlier, turning my mouth blue. Then I made jokes about doing inappropriate things to Smurfette with some friends. This was at about 9 PM. A year ago, I was trying to sort out how long I could drink and still be sober enough to go home for my birthday and Thanksgiving next week.

All things being equal, I prefer the Jolly Ranchers and juvenile humor.
