Thanksgiving Holiday Edition Weekender
There will be no attempt to frame what the ideal Thanksgiving holiday should be. It may not be a holiday in your part of the world. But I can't imagine any person dealing with addition not finding a day of thanks, official or not. So why not make it our own in this special edition weekender thread.
You may be struggling so much right now that reading a post where people can even conceive of being thankful gets you pissed. I know. I was there not long ago. November 2012 I was that angry. Eff those shiny happy people. Who do they think they are bragging like that. That month ushered in for me new lows in December of that same year.
It took a while for me to not get angry. I was, of course, angry with myself. Frustrated beyond belief that a smart, once happy guy like me was such a mess.
Happiness and thankfulness. Well.... those things don't grow on trees. But they do grow. Cultivated one sober day at a time. Pruned through each moment we choose to forgive ourselves. Watered with the tears of frustration that for many who stay stopped then comes from joy.
Hope? That's a very real and tangible thing. It can be shared and given and be thankful for. Hope can be as wide as you can extend yourself.
I am both thankful and hopeful this year. This holiday. I am also on vacation this coming week. So I need you. Jump on the bus with us. Put your anger aside. Accept that you can be sober. And let's have some fun!

I was goofing on the other thread... woke up a 5 on the couch - she no longer tries to wake me when I fall asleep watching the stupid show...

Oh and sorry for such a long intro. I wrote it and thought that M's ring ring is always soothing. So it got really long.........
Working from home today.....clean the house, get a run in, answer emails, relax. Yeah!
Off starting midday tomorrow all of the holiday week. So since we also keep going why not have a focus all week on those that don't do well or find holidays a challenge!!!!
We will be right here for you!

I had to look up t-day to make sure it was next week--- I was in a panic for a couple minutes... thanks for the thread weasel...
I still didn't site in the new hunting tool... it's rainy, won't be going out there
looks like domestic chores are in order for today-- and if it's not too wet, outside xmas lights... the missus has a couple days off - that always gets in my way of getting things done - I need to work on that. Learn to ignore her presence and stay focused.

I get up this time everyday. In fact I slept in a few minutes. I start work at 6am most days and earlier some.

I just want to use this platform to say how much I care about you all. I will continue to try and solve world hunger. I will work tirelessly for those in need of weekend support. I will eat more bacon despite the apparent risk to life and limb. I would like to thank my higher power, my lower power and all powers in between because I suspect it took a lot of behind the scenes work to get me to 6000.
