Looking for newcomers to help
i'm reaching out because I need someone to help so I can continue my program. I've been sober 10 years I'm not to talk too much about myself because that's ego right? But if anybody has anything to say about step one.?? I can start a conversation by saying it took me a long time to accept that I was powerless I can admit it any day of the week
Step12, it's good of you to offer to help.
Maybe if you start to read through the newcomer's threads you'll get a feel for how we help each other. The whole forum isn't AA based, but there is a 12 Step area, and your ten years' sobriety will be valuable experience in all the recovery areas here.
Welcome to SR.

Maybe you could start by telling us a little more about your journey in layman's terms. 12-step speak is familiar to some of us but you may be surprised that a recent poll here showed the majority do not do meetings or 12 step. Not to say that you won't get listened to but make it your own story, in regular language as the majority here are not so well versed in quotes, sayings from "the program". Welcome and congrats on 10 yrs.
How do you manage ten years of sobriety? What helps you regularly? Was it easy to do? I'm kinda looking for something more than "I did it one day at a time," if you understand what I am seeking here. I just have a little over 4 years now.
