I'm new here
Welcome to SR, shucks; very glad you found us.
You had seven wonderful years of sobriety; those years are a well of power, knowledge and strength from which you can draw to regain sobriety.
You can have that beautiful life back.
What did you do to gain your previous sober time?

Welcome to SR shucks! You will find a lot of support as understanding here. 7 years is a petty amazing run of sobriety, what were you doing during those years to keep sober? You can absolutely get back to that place.
Welcome to the forum.
Many people here are sober without AA - but if that is what helped you before, maybe give it a chance again. There is a lot of wisdom in the rooms, but it isn't the only way.
Reading around these forums, you will find there are many ways to stay sober. I hope you stick around and take advantage of the great information and support here. You can absolutely do it again.
#1. Don't drink today.

Welcome Shucks don't beat yourself up I remember talking outside with a man before a meeting once he told me he had 25 yrs of sobriety but had relapsed recently I could of only been around 4 months sober at the time I was still in awe of meeting someone with 25 years sobriety & he was around 60+ I just said something simple like well your here & you don't lose 25 years of sobriety
Same goes for your 7 years you don't lose them years whatever kept you going for so long was obviously working
Really nice to meet you & look forward to your posts

Hi Shucks
you'll find a lot of support here
Like others have said there are many of us here that are sober without AA but it sounds like AA worked for you for a while?
If not AA what else are you prepared to do to stay sober?
