Applied for a New Job

Hey, I applied for a new job within my company. It would be a step up for me. I had the interview and I thought it went pretty well. I don't even care if I get the job though. It just felt great. I put myself out there in front of my management and now I guess I'll get their feedback. And maybe that job.

It just felt great to apply for something new. The alcohol is like a prison outside and inside of work. I really doubt I would have applied if I had still been drinking. At the very least I got some interview practice. And some self-respect.

good luck with the job! It's a lil scary but feels good doing something outside our comfort zone.

Good luck, and whatever the outcome, remember it is a worthwhile endeavor and may pay off in unexpected ways.

A few years ago, when I was approaching retirement, I applied for what sounded to me like a dream job--travel all over the country, help train and provide resources for people doing the same kind of work I used to do. I made it to the final interview and didn't get the job. A couple of months later--literally my first week at home after retirement--I got an email with a job announcement for something very similar. I applied, and a few months later was hired. The job paid TWICE what the previous one I'd applied for did, and required no relocation (I can work from home when I'm not traveling).

The interesting thing is that it had been years and years since I'd interviewed for a job, and the first, unsuccessful interview, was GREAT practice for the interview for the job I eventually landed.
