I wanna stay in step 2

I've gotten past rock bottom 1 and feeling great,
When thoughts of drinking booze again are not in debate,
Don't want to move to step 3 when I mingle again,
Just a little shot today, moderation sins.
Step 4 is when you dive all in, let's make a toast,
In fact let's kill a bottle of this night we'll make the most!
Oh crap I lost it all with 5 the liquor's won,
It's time to sign on SR 'cause I'm back to 1.

I happy staying in step one.......and I may be here for a long time. Actually I don't care about the steps I care about if I drink or not......everything else will follow.

Oh duh...naturally. Ok I get some bus passes today so I will make it a point to go and ask. I know exactly where it is, I use to pass it on my way to get booze...smh

Step 2 Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

It was pretty rough for a long time this last time in which I sobered up. In meetings I would stare at this Step and take to mind the part that says "could" restore us (me) to sanity.

For I knew that there were no guarantees
but,
if I just didn't drink one day at a time
sanity may return ?

There was hope.

It happened -- today I don't touch the hot stove.
How many times must one get burned ?

I've seen so many over the years sober up
and stay sober in AA.
