Aunt Curly's Ok
Aunt Curly's Ok
I hadn't had a sober weekend since 2013, so this weekend was the first in a long time. I called my sister and asked if I could hang out with her. My niece was somehow skeptical. "Mommy I don't wanna see Aunt Curly this time of night, because I don't know her condition." My sister says, "Well actually, Aunt Curly hasn't had a drink in a few days, so she should be ok." "Really Mommy? Oh wow! I wanna see her! Is she coming?"
I go over and hang out, and my niece makes a pot of coffee for us to share. Of course my sister's drinking but it doesn't bother me. I was just happy about my 16 year old niece being proud of me. She even gave me chocolate chip creamer to pour in which was amazing! Me and my sister talked but then she got incoherent (I'm not judging, I was in her shoes a few days ago) so I told her I'd see her tomorrow. I woke up this morning and tried to call my niece but I'm guessing with drinking coffee at 16 she probably had a late night followed by a late morning. I wanted to thank her for last night and let her know that Aunt Curly's gonna be ok. So glad she's in my corner!
