Yep!
Came to me today from another fellow ex spouse of an alcoholic. Gods timing is impeccable.
"As water reflects a face, so a mans heart reflects the man" (Prov 27:19). A persons actions come from who they really are. Words that don't match behavior come from a heart that isn't honest and from one that seeks to manipulate and deceive. Watch actions to see what you are really dealing with. It will be enlightening.
Took me years to finally believe this....I held on for dear life to his words. His beautiful words. I wanted to believe his words so damn badly. When he drank his actions were in exact opposition to his words-his loving words. And so were mine with how many threats I made and never following through-that was pure manipulation (filled with anger that bordered on hatred) on my part. Really really glad to not be that person anymore and just accept him as he is-no matter what I hoped he would be (good strong husband, good father, a MAN, honest).
