What have you ignored....
What have you ignored....
Addiction leads us to ignore things.
One thing I've discovered in sobriety is that there are things I have ignored too long.
My love for and dreams of writing.
My creativity.
My love of photography.
My love of nature and adventure....
One thing that has helped me fuel my sobriety is turning to these things I've ignored as a source of strength and inspiration and discovery.
What have you long ignored that might be fuel for you?

I ignored
....my health
....my marriage
....my daughter
....responsibility
....really I was ignoring my whole life except booze.
So happy I was able to dig myself out of that hole and work towards being a better person.

I ignored pretty much everything. Well....I always had a weird way to pretend I wasn't ignoring. I would say "I'll just do it tomorrow". Then when tomorrow came, I'd "do it tomorrow"....etc, etc, etc. That way, for that day, I felt like I dealt with it for the time being. Made total sense at the time! Anything of importance only got taken care of when it was almost too late or last chance before crap hit the fan. Other things just got put aside and forgotten about, I didn't want them "complicating" my life. Commitments were a definite no all the time....but if I did have to commit and could find no way out, it was only if absolutely necessary. I ignored (or didn't think I deserved) happiness and joy in my life.
So, I basically ignored life in general. I knew it was going on all around me but it was a bother, and I couldn't be bothered cuz I was busy..........drinking my wine.

Yes, me too....gives me very much comfort knowing I will do what I say too! What a good feeling!

Love is a much better fuel than alcohol!
For me it has been falling in love with life again. I forgot what that feeling is like. Thank you for reminding me that life I have today is directly related to giving up alcohol.
