SR Threads and Getting Involved

Hi all,

What are the "Check Yourself Weekender" and "Class of <INSERT MONTH>" type threads? Are they to keep people together who start getting sober at the same time?

BTW Day 11 here and want to keep the moment up with my posting... I've been reading Rational Recovery and it's making complete sense. My AV has gone very quiet over the last few days... Suspiciously so. I'm sure it's waiting gathering strength to assault me soon (I've got a few days off until Tuesday next week.

Cheers guys X X

11 days is awesome, Gerd!

The "weekend" thread has a different title each time. Anyone can post there, and it's helpful for newcomers who may need to post frequently.

The "class" threads are indeed so you can offer and receive support from those who start getting sober the same time as you.

There are several other on-going threads here--read around and post often!

The Classes are a great way for people with about the same length of sobriety to offer support to each other. They are also a great way to get to know some of the members.

Weekender's threads offer some fun for members particularly those who may not have many sober friends and may be lonely on the weekends.

Congratulations on 11 sober days, GerdMuller.

I have never been part of any class but I post on here and generally see the same people over time. Some come and talk a lot then disappear others stay, I don't post a ton but I try to get on at least once a day. I really hope the people who I don't see any more are doing well.

You couldn't ask for friendlier people than the Weekenders thread. And classes are great. I'm one of many here for whom the SR class was instrumental. We still hang out together after more than two years!

Brilliant cheers!

I think I'm worried that on e you get a few weeks under your belt, the newcomers threads become less relevant and so you post less, and obviously that's dangerous. This sounds like a good way to keep things going on SR.

Like sva777 says, you worry about thugs who have gone quiet

Congrats on day 11! My av also was quiet up until today (on day 7 now). I've been timing it and it lasts a few hours. Working on a sobriety plan for times when it comes out.
