Day 10 observations.

Evening of day 10. Here are some things I'm noticing:
Cravings are much less- still have those times that I want to drink, but it is actually more triggers- getting off the interstate on the way home- I would ALWAYS turn right and stop at liquor store. I turn left now to go strait home. I'm eating more and snacks are in the mix now when I always drank my snacks. I look forward to eating dinner rather than it being a necessary hassle to keep me from being as sick in the morning. I feel like I am beginning to find my way and I'm don't feel like I am "white knuckling" it. Still would love to suck down some beer and have a few shots, but I know better and it isn't consuming my thoughts. Having 10 days behind me now feels like a gift and a worthy and meaningful streak that I want to keep adding to. Thanks to all here who have been such a great source of support.

ten days is great KE

Give yourself a little time - those 'sucking down a beer' thoughts will fade

huh, interesting. I had those very same things happen to me. Started snacking a lot and started to really enjoy dinner (which I'm about to have). Dinner used to be such a nuisance, but necessary so at least I had some nutrition in me before I went to bed. I'm glad to hear you are changing and reaping some of the benefits.

Great point. About six years ago, I quit drinking for about 15 months. On a trip to Hawaii, I thought: I can have a few beers on vacation. I was back to drinking every day when I got home.

Double digits feels great. I feel as though something has shifted for me and was wondering if you felt that way, too - as in cravings are just not as intense as they were, it's getting easier each day, it feels more possible to do this? That's what I've been feeling!
